This saree is a beautiful fusion, combining the signature handloom weaving of Mangalagiri with the traditional resist-dye patterns of Bandhani (also known as Bandhej or tie-dye).
Fabric: The base fabric is characteristically a Mangalagiri Cotton-Silk Blend, known for its fine, dense, and lightweight weave.
Color: The body features a striking graduation from a deep, rich purple at the top to a darker indigo/violet shade at the bottom, suggesting a dual-dye or ombré effect.
Border: It features the characteristic Nizam border. This is a clean, woven band of silver zari that runs along the bottom edge, providing a crisp, traditional contrast to the dyed body.
Due to the deep dyes and fine weave of the fabric, careful washing and storage are essential to maintain its color and integrity.
First Wash: Dry Clean Only for the first two to three washes is highly recommended, especially with deep colors like purple and indigo, to properly set the dye and prevent bleeding.
